METRIC TO AWG WIRE SIZE EQUIVALENTS TABLE
Below table provided the closest equivalent size between metric and American wire sizes. For Europe, the wire sizes are expressed in cross sectional area which in unit mm² , as well as the number of strands of wires of a diameter which in unit of mm. For example, 7/0.08 means 7 strands of wire each 0.08 diameter and the cross sectional area is 0.032mm². For America, the wire sizes are expressed in AWG numbering as below table, which AWG are applied not only to individual strands but also to its equivalent size bunches of smaller strands. For example, the 32 AWG could be 1 of 0,2mm diameter strand or 7 of 0.08 diameter strands, which both are equivalents. |
